Individual Services

Auctioneering

KTBA Auctioneers specialize in benefit auctions, and always ensure that guests know what the current bid amount is and what bid amount they want. KTBA Auctioneers are available to meet with before your auction, arrive well prepared, conduct a sound and lighting check, close each silent auction section personally, know how to auction In-The-Round, like to thank each top bidder by the top bidder’s own name, work well with your announcer, and provide a set of notes for your post auction review. KTBA auctioneers adapt their style to fit your audience.

Assistant Auctioneers

KTBA Assistant Auctioneers locate bids in the audience and relay those bids to the KTBA Auctioneer. Principally used In-The-Round, KTBA Assistant Auctioneers are skilled in knowing the live auction increments and increase revenue by seeing bids that would otherwise be missed.

Emcees

KTBA Emcees are in charge of the conduct of the program for the auction. They introduce organization officials, dignitaries, and others to the live auction stage and “take them off” the stage. KTBA Emcees keep the program on time.

Announcers

KTBA Announcers describe each live auction item to the audience before the KTBA Auctioneer auctions the item. The KTBA Auctioneer locates the top bidder, thanks the top bidder by name, and then the announcer introduces the next live auction item. The KTBA Announcer uses specially prepared text to describe the value of the item to the auction guests and focuses on explaining what fun it would be to have that live auction item. The KTBA announcer does not simply read the catalog text to the audience, but instead puts the "sizzle" in the item for the audience.

Auction Planners

KTBA Auction Planners take KTBA client auctions through the benefit auction planning process by telephone, fax, and email from the Seattle KTBA office. KTBA Auction Planners are assigned to a particular KTBA auction, get to know the auction and its personnel, and provide unlimited support to the auction. There is no additional charge for this unique KTBA service.

Auction Coordinators

A KTBA Auction Coordinator works in the office of the benefit auction helping the auction with acquisitions, audience development, computer software input, catalog production, reservations, and/or other tasks defined in an agreement for KTBA Auction Coordinator services.

Computer Operators

KTBA Computer Operators work at the benefit auction site conducting ExpressPay enrollment, data input, cashiering, and other on-site tasks.

Clerk Recorders

A KTBA Clerk Recorder writes down on the live auction invoice the top bid number and amount. This same information is written into the auction catalog by another KTBA Clerk Recorder so that there are two independent records of the top bid amount and the bid number of the top bidder. KTBA Clerk Recorders keep a cumulative record of the live auction and of Fund-An-Item and relay this information to the auctioneer for announcement to the guests.

Bidder Recognition

KTBA Bidder Recognition personnel operate a stand alone computer and separate large screen monitor at center stage so that the live auctioneer can thank the top bidders by using their own names.

KTBA Seminar

KTBA offers an 8-hour benefit auction seminar jam packed with ideas and techniques to improve your benefit auction three times per year in the Seattle area. Topics include: how to acquire best selling items for your auction, how to boost auction attedance, ideas about software for your auction, credit cards for your auction, revenue enhancing ideas, including Fund-An-Item, Bidding Frenzy, Centerpiece Sales, Raffles, and many more.

KTBA Training

KTBA trains your volunteers twice before your auction: once by phone with your auction planner, and once just before the doors open to your event. KTBA provides written job descriptions for each volunteer position.
