Brunch Auction Brings Auction Revenue to Record Total
By: Kip Toner ~
This Saturday, a KTBA client rotary club hosted a benefit auction in a brunch format, rather than the usual gala dinner event. The doors opened at 11:00 AM, and after guests had had the opportunity to peruse and bid on silent auction items and visit over mimosas, they were seated for a sumptuous brunch. The energy at this event was palpable and the bidding reflected this, sending the at auction revenue to a record total. After the auction, guests commented on how much they had enjoyed the unique brunch format and timing of the event. This auction was a perfect example of how a brunch rather than a dinner for a benefit auction does not negatively affect auction revenue; in fact, it can have quite the opposite result! If your benefit auction team is looking for a way to reinvent your annual event and would like to try to new format, consider replacing the traditional gala dinner with brunch instead. You just might see your revenue increase!
