Matching Funds Help Art Auction Top Last Yearís Revenue

Wednesday evening a KTBA client art auction increased its auction revenue over last year’s by at least 30K!  A formal affair in downtown Bellevue, this benefit auction attracted dedicated fine art patrons from around the Seattle area who were prepared to bid competitively on a premium selection of art pieces in a variety of mediums.  The ambiance was elegant, the art impressive, and the bidding correspondingly lively. While the silent and live auction revenue remained relatively close to last year’s total, the Fund-An-Item™ portion of the event jumped significantly, and was augmented even more by an additional $100,000 in matching funds! 


This art auction’s successful Fund-An-Item™ was a prime example of how the implementation of confirmed pledges as matching money can grow the Fund-An-Item™ portion of your benefit auction.  If there are one or two donors who you know will be willing to contribute significantly to your organization, you can maximize the effect of those donations by asking the donors for permission to use those pledge funds as matching money for Fund-An-Item™.  When your guests are informed that their donations to your organization will be matched, they will be inspired to donate more readily and at a higher level of giving.
